Special Exhibition Hina Doll Festival of the Owari Tokugawa Family 2023
~
The Doll Festival, which is held as an annual seasonal ritual on the third day of the Third Month to pray for the health and happiness of girls, was one of the most important annual events in the Owari Tokugawa family. It is truly a sight to behold the exhibition galleries filled with the decorative miniatures dating to the Edo period and the lavish giant tiered doll sets measuring 2 meters in height by 7 meters in width belonging to the wives of three generations of Owari Tokugawa daimyo from the Meiji to Shōwa eras. We hope you enjoy these sumptuous doll displays of the Owari Tokugawa family.
